Physical Therapy

All physical therapy services begin with an evaluation. This is where we will perform testing and make an assessment to help create a treatment plan to achieve your goals. During this evaluation, clients are provided with education about their particular needs and a plan of care is established.

At CG Wellness, we utilize several techniques in our sessions including dry needling, mobility/stretching, strength training, and other cutting-edge rehabilitation techniques with the goal of getting you moving and feeling like yourself again.

Dry Needling

What is dry needling?

Dry needling is a research-based technique used by physical therapists to improve pain and movement challenges.

What is the difference between dry needling and acupuncture?

While the two therapies share some similarities, dry needling is based on western medical and research approaches, while acupuncture is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture aims to restore balance in the body's energy flow, while dry needling aims to release muscle tension and improve movement.

How does it work?

One or more thin needles are inserted into a muscle trigger point. A trigger point is an area of tight and irritable muscle tissue. Needles remain in the body for a short period of time (10 sec. - 20 min.). Needles are often paired with electrical stimulation to enhance the effects of the treatment.
